The city of Perth is nestled on the banks of the beautiful Swan River, which connects the Western Australian capital city to the scenic beauty of the Swan Valley.

Although Australia’s largest state covers 2.5 million square km, it’s still surprising how incredibly diverse the area is. From ancient forests to a sparkling ocean, a red rock interior to rolling green hillsides, and scattered fields of wildflowers – the contrast is amazing.

Getting around Perth is easy with free travel on buses and trains in the city centre, which covers all the major shopping streets in Perth and Northbridge, and with museums, galleries and department stores all within walking distance.

Perth is the perfect place to base yourself, with all the essential ingredients for a great Western Australian holiday. Here you can experience beaches, nightlife, bustling markets, inner city parks, outdoor dining and amazing marine adventures – in one place.

Things To Do
Hit the beaches
Perth offers nineteen beaches to choose from, all with spectacular sunsets over the Indian Ocean. Some of the most popular include Cottesloe - considered safe for swimming, Scarborough - popular for its beach-side cafes, and Trigg Island Beach - known as an excellent surfing beach.

Visit Kings Park
Located at the top of Mount Eliza, it’s the perfect place to hire a bike and discover its beauty, as well as being a great point to take in the Perth skyline. Kings Park also conducts free guided walks of the park twice daily.

The Perth Mint
Here at one of the world's oldest mints still operating from its original premises, you can mint your own personal coin in gold or silver with your very own message – the perfect memento from the Western capital.

See the Swan Bells
Located on Riverside Drive and ringing daily, the Swan Bells consist of 18 change ringing bells, and are the world’s largest musical instrument.

Dine Out
Dining out in Perth is all about fresh local produce, fine wines and superb settings. Perth’s migrant population and proximity to Asia have given the city an intriguing influence, and the city’s creative chefs experiment with a cultural fusion of flavours.
