Townsville Airport remains open and fully operational, with no delays or disruptions to services currently being experienced due to the developing tropical low off the North Queensland Coast.

Townsville Airport has activated Stage 2 of the Cyclone Management Plan. That is, the airport is on cyclone warning status.

Townsville Airport’s Chief Operating Officer, Kevin Gill, said the airport remained fully operational but was monitoring the situation and is in liaison with Emergency Management Queensland and Defence on the current status.

“At this stage all our services have been running to schedule, however some airlines have indicated that weather conditions associated with the tropical low could cause disruptions to services this afternoon and into tomorrow,” Mr Gill said.
