Townsville Airport is North Queensland’s regional hub, providing connections from capital cities with direct flights servicing Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney to outlying North Queensland. The airport is located to the north of Townsville in the suburb of Garbutt. The airport is situated on a coastal plain between Rowes Bay and the Bohle River, 5km west of the city centre. The Airport orientation is such that the existing northern end of the main runway is only 1km from the coast, whilst the terminal and administration building area is approximately 2.6km inland.

The airport is well sign-posted from the city and located on the northern side of Ingham Road. Please leave Ingham Road at the Meenan Street intersection.
