TOWNSVILLE AIRPORT MASTER PLAN 2023

Townsville Airport services a growing population of more than 235,000 people, acting as a crucial gateway for trade and tourism, and facilitating significant economic and social growth for North Queensland. As recognised in the State Government’s North Queensland Regional Plan, the Townsville Airport is of regional economic significance, contributing more than $400 million annually to the region it supports.

ABOUT THE MASTER PLAN

Townsville Airport Pty Ltd is required, under the Airports Act 1996 (Cth), to prepare a 20-year master plan to guide the development of existing and proposed airport land uses and facilities associated with civilian operations. This plan is to be renewed every eight years.

The public consultation period for the Preliminary Draft version of the Townsville Airport Master Plan 2023 has now closed. To read the Preliminary Draft, please click here.
