Community Consultation

Townsville Airport values the strong and open relationships it holds with its surrounding communities. The airport has a long history of consultation and is committed to ongoing valuable community dialogue.

Community Aviation Consultation Group (CACG)

Traditionally, the airport hosted in-person CACG meetings twice per year, which local community group representatives and other interested parties were able to attend. In April 2024, the airport undertook a year-long trial of an electronic Community Aviation Consultation Group (eCACG) to understand if a digital format was preferred by the community, encouraging greater participation from a wider cross-section of members.

Following this trial period, Townsville Airport will revert to traditional, in-person CACG meetings twice-yearly from October 2025. These meetings will be advertised in the local newspaper and via social media. Everyone is invited to attend, and we encourage community members to come along and learn more about the airport’s activities, as well as to ask questions and provide their feedback.
